Empowering high-rise residents to produce their own food and reduce living costs through innovative rainwater harvesting and domestic gardening systems.
Domestic farming in the city enables the integration of food supply systems with urban consumption. This project focuses on sustainable gardening to reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect wildlife habitats. By collecting rainwater from existing downpipes, residents can water their plants efficiently, meeting daily food needs while lowering expenses.
The project involved deep collaboration with the Jabatan Pertanian Bandar, Putrajaya. Expert consultations and workshops were conducted to deliver suitable planting methods tailored for urban high-rise living, ensuring that residents have the technical support needed to maintain their home gardens successfully.
This project actively contributes to several UN Sustainable Development Goals by fostering food security, sustainable living, and climate resilience.
