The Challenge

There is often a disjuncture between community needs and authority delivery regarding Orang Asli education. This project empowers youth to share their hopes, challenges, and dreams, helping to design a curriculum and learning environment that truly inspires and serves their community.

Engagement Strategy

Introduced via Kg Pawong, the team worked closely with Tok Batin and JKKK leaders. Workshops were scheduled based on community input, and youth were trained in participatory exercises, gaining the confidence to present their own digital stories to their families and peers.

Outcomes & Future Roadmap

Confidence & Empowerment 13 youth gained a profound sense of empowerment by producing and screening their own digital experiences.

Community Dialogue Screening attended by 50 parents fostered direct conversation between generations regarding educational aspirations.

Digital Archive Creation of a permanent website to host these stories for public education and policy-making purposes.

Anti-Bullying Workshop Proposed project to address the prevalent issue of bullying identified in the digital stories.

Career Mentorship A mentorship programme is proposed to bridge the gap in career guidance and access to information.
