Evidence-Based Insights

Debunking Rural Literacy & Digital Myths

Click any myth below to uncover evidence-based realities established through Tuninipot 2.0 field trials.

Myth 1: "Indigenous oral folklore is outdated and irrelevant for modern preschool literacy education." +
Scientific Reality: Integrating local wisdom (cerita rakyat, traditional proverbs, and nature play) into early childhood education boosts learning motivation and cultural identity. The Tuninipot 2.0 KGBK method achieved a 98.5% 3M literacy mastery rate among 5 and 6-year-old preschoolers across 8 Tadika Perpaduan centers.
Myth 2: "Rural indigenous youth lack the technical interest to create digital business plans using AI and social media." +
Scientific Reality: Workshops with 200 secondary students at SMK Arshad and Ranau proved that when trained with targeted AI prompts and financial costing tools, youth successfully drafted business models and TikTok marketing campaigns to commercialize local Kadazan-Dusun handicrafts and cultural products.
Myth 3: "Indigenous elders are too intimidated by technology to adopt cybersecurity practices." +
Scientific Reality: Field assessments revealed that 50% of community elders had baseline digital awareness but lacked threat defense skills. Through the Modul Dekat Dihati, elders successfully adopted Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and actively engaged in digital storytelling to archive ancestral stories on social media.
