Highlights of UMCares’ 2024 Achievements
Knowledge Transfer Programs
- 25 New Programs: UMCares launched 25 new initiatives focusing on community involvement, reaching a broad spectrum of beneficiaries.
- 16,150 Beneficiaries: Communities across Malaysia have reaped the benefits of UMCares’ programs, showcasing its extensive reach and inclusivity.
- Sustained Impact: 25 programs have been running for over three years, proving UMCares’ commitment to long-term community development.
- Expertise at Work: 199 experts contributed their knowledge and skills, enriching the programs and ensuring their success.
Community Engagement Across Malaysia
UMCares conducted projects in 14 states, reflecting its nationwide presence. Key demographics impacted include:
- 5,817 Children and Students: Programs tailored to enhance learning and personal growth.
- 8,886 University Students and Staff: Bridging academia and community for mutual development.
- 420 Senior Citizens and People with Disabilities: Inclusive initiatives ensuring representation and support.
- 761 Indigenous and Rural Communities: Addressing unique challenges and fostering resilience.
- 226 Urban Poor Communities: Alleviating hardship through targeted assistance.
Collaborative Efforts with Agencies and Industries
UMCares emphasizes partnerships, collaborating with government agencies, industries, and NGOs to amplify its efforts. In 2024:
- RM 1,393,592 was secured to support community programs.
- Partnerships included organizations like the Ministry of Finance, MR.DIY, Watsons, Yayasan Petronas, and Garmin.
Media Visibility
UMCares’ initiatives received significant media attention, with 16 programs featured. The media coverage, valued at RM 415,817.60, underscores the societal impact and relevance of UMCares’ work.
