- Progress on Tier 1 Projects
- 19 Tier 1 Projects are currently underway, demonstrating our commitment to addressing immediate community needs and fostering sustainable development.
- These projects are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that our efforts contribute to global sustainability targets.
- Progress on Tier 2 & 3 Projects
- 3 Tier 2 Projects (Academic Knowledge Transfer) and 2 Tier 3 Projects (Community Services) are in the pipeline, with implementation set to begin in March 2025.
- These projects aim to empower local communities through education, skill-building, and community-driven initiatives.
- Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations
- A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on SDGs (APPGM-SDG) and Universiti Malaya (UM) at the Parliament Building. This partnership will strengthen our efforts in achieving SDG-related goals and amplify our community impact.

- Announcement of Tier 2 & 3 Projects
- The official announcement of Knowledge Transfer Projects (Tier 2) and Community Services Projects (Tier 3) will take place in March. These projects will focus on empowering communities through education, skill development, and sustainable practices.
- Opening Ceremony of “Kampung Angkat UM” at Taiping Zoo
- Plans are underway for the opening ceremony of “Kampung Angkat UM”, a community adoption program at Taiping Zoo. This initiative will foster a sense of ownership and responsibility among UM students and the local community, while promoting wildlife conservation and environmental awareness.
- Strengthening Collaborations
- Further discussions with Watsons will focus on detailed collaboration and sponsorship opportunities for community projects involving students.
- A visit and discussion with the Industrial Relations Division (BHI) and the Department of Higher Education (JPT) will be held to explore additional partnership opportunities and strengthen ties between academia and industry.
