UMCares: Progress Report for May 2025

Communitize@UM is a flagship initiative by Universiti Malaya (UM) that focuses on building strong community ties and making a positive impact. Here's a look at our progress as of May 2025.

Tier 2 Programs (CAKnA) 

We're proud to report significant progress in our Tier 2 initiative. A total of 34 parliaments have been covered by our projects, with 27 projects led by 27 project leaders for tier 2 program. Our work spans across various faculties, including both Science and Non-Science disciplines.

Tier 3 Program (IKom)

Our Tier 3 Program, IKom, is also moving forward. In a meeting on May 29, 2025, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) of Student Affairs officially approved the program

We have an exciting schedule of events and meetings planned for June to continue our momentum.

Important upcoming dates:

1. June 18, 2025: UM Giving Carnival, a collaboration between UM Giving Centre and various industries.
2. June 19, 2025: Engagement session with the AirAsia Foundation, led by UMCares.
3. June 23, 2025: The Research Working Committee Meeting with TNC P&I and UMCares.
4. June 27, 2025: STAM Activities with SMK Tok Perdana, involving the faculties of Engineering, Library, and Makerspace.
5. July 2, 2025: Presentation of the Tier 1 Progress Report to Universiti Malaya and project leaders.
6. July 3, 2025: Bridging Borders: Meet the Industry, an event hosted by UMILO to connect with industry partners.
