Launched SMK TOK PERDANA

Ceremony of Sekolah Angkat MADANI Universiti Malaya

The formal launching ceremony of the Sekolah Angkat MADANI Universiti Malaya (UM) program was successfully held at SMK Tok Perdana, marking a significant milestone in community-university collaboration. This strategic initiative aligns with the national Malaysia MADANI vision, aiming to bridge educational gaps and foster holistic development among students.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials from Universiti Malaya, school administrators, and community leaders, all witnessing the official signing of the partnership and the unveiling of upcoming academic and mentorship frameworks. Through this program, Universiti Malaya will provide SMK Tok Perdana with specialized educational resources, motivational workshops, and expert guidance to enhance academic and extracurricular excellence.

Opening Kampung Angkat MADANI Universiti Malaya

The official opening ceremony of the Kampung Angkat MADANI Universiti Malaya (UM) program was successfully launched at Kampung Bukit Larut, marking a vital step forward in community empowerment and rural development. Aligning with the core tenets of the Malaysia MADANI concept, this strategic initiative serves to bridge the socio-economic and educational gap between urban and rural communities.

The ceremony was attended by Universiti Malaya management, local community leaders, and village residents, celebrating a shared commitment to sustainable growth through upcoming community-driven workshops, healthcare initiatives, and educational support frameworks. Following the launch, UM representatives and the village committee immediately engaged in dialogue sessions to outline the project's immediate action plans.

Benchmarking Session on Community Engagement Initiative with UTP

Universiti Malaya (UM) successfully hosted a benchmarking session on community engagement initiatives with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), fostering a productive exchange of institutional best practices. The primary objective was to compare and refine community outreach strategies.

The dialogue yielded valuable insights into enhancing volunteer recruitment, strengthening industry partnerships, and aligning grassroots projects with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both institutions identified key areas for potential collaboration, including joint community projects and shared research on community development outcomes.

Universiti Malaya (UM) conducted a strategic working visit to the Segamat District Education Office (PPD Segamat) and SK Kampong Kudung, Segamat, aimed at strengthening ties and aligning grassroots educational initiatives.

The meeting at PPD Segamat focused on identifying critical areas of need within the district's schools, exploring how the university's academic expertise and student volunteer programs can best support local educational goals. Following this, the delegation visited SK Kampong Kudung to assess firsthand the school's unique learning environment, community dynamics, and opportunities for developing tailored mentorship frameworks.

Briefing Community Grant CAKnA - Non Science Field

The Universiti Malaya Community Engagement Centre (UMCares) successfully organized a specialized briefing and grant clinic for the Tier 2 Community Grant, Program CAKnA (Citra Akademik untuk Komuniti dan Alam), specifically tailored for the Non-Science and Technology field.

The session guided academic staff, administrators, and student representatives from arts, humanities, and social sciences faculties on project expectations. Special emphasis was placed on the grant’s core criteria, which mandate a synergistic collaboration between university staff and students to deliver measurable, sustainable social improvements evaluated through the Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, and Aspirations (KASA) framework.

Universiti Malaya (UM) convened a strategic discussion session with the Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary Office to finalize the execution plans for the Kampung Angkat MADANI program in the constituency.

This dialogue successfully yielded several key action plans, including the organization of digital entrepreneurship workshops for youth, community healthcare screening programs, and smart tuition classes for local school students. The Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary Office highly welcomed the initiative and pledged full logistical support and ground data.
