Driving Sustainability Through Key Community and Environmental Initiatives
The "Inspire Tomorrow: Youth Empowerment Sponsorship Programme" held on 12th November 2025 highlighted the successful collaboration between Universiti Malaya, Skintific, and Watsons. A fundraising campaign through the sale of Niacinamide Moisturizer raised RM7,151 to support youth empowerment.
The sponsorship mock cheque handover honored seven students from faculties including Arts and Social Science, Business and Economics, and Languages and Linguistics. An Appreciation Plaque was also presented to Skintific Malaysia, marking a successful partnership focused on empowering the youth and fostering community growth.
The Management Training Workshop with Universitas Padang, Indonesia was held on 19th November. Assoc. Prof. ChM. Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Director of UMCares, delivered an insightful session on the crucial topic of collaboration and community engagement with companies.
The workshop explored strategies for fostering strong partnerships between universities and industries, emphasizing the positive impact of these collaborations on community development and corporate social responsibility. It provided a valuable opportunity for participants to gain knowledge on driving mutual growth and supporting sustainable initiatives.
The 1 Million Trees Programme, sponsored by PETRONAS, took place on Tuesday, 25th November, at Kuala Sepetang, Perak, Malaysia. The event involved CEPA (Community Engagement and Participation Area) activities and the planting of 3,600 trees, significantly contributing to the environmental sustainability efforts in the region.
This initiative highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in preserving nature and combating climate change, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
